The most popular breeding grounds for viruses and bacteria

If ordinary people are asked the question: “Where are the viruses and bacteria most often found?”, Then nine out of ten people will say: “In the toilet”. And make a mistake. It turns out that there are much more “dirty” places that are dangerous from the point of view of the risk of infectious diseases, the causative agents of which are precisely bacteria and viruses.

Personal items
Banknotes
This is a real hotbed of microorganisms. Money is literally dirty. Just imagine how many hands the bill went through, in which dirty pockets, on the shelves it lay before it came to you. The wallet will be no less dirty.

It has been established that on a paper bill on average there are about 30 thousand different bacteria and other microorganisms, and this can be intestinal viruses and bacteria, pathogens of tuberculosis – mycobacteria, worm eggs.
And after all, money cannot be washed or disinfected (we won’t talk about money laundering). And I don’t feel like throwing away a greasy hundred-ruble or a thousand. So, you must wash your hands after holding the money in your hands.

Smartphones
Smartphone, communicator – an indispensable attribute of our time. Many simply do not let it go. But your hands can be dirty – after a trip in public transport, shopping. In addition, we throw our gadgets on the desk – and it is far from sterile, we carry them in our pockets, sometimes with money.

Most bacteria accumulate on mobile devices
To reduce the risk of catching infection from your own smartphone, it is advisable to wipe it regularly with disinfectant wipes. And do not carry in your pockets – it is better if he has his own place, for example in a special compartment in a bag.

Public places
Doorknobs
Especially door handles in public places. A lot of people take them for the day. And not the fact that they are all healthy. All microbes from their hands remain on the surface of the handle and thus easily pass from hand to hand.

During cleaning, you must also wipe the door handles at home (many simply forget about them). Well, after the street, always wash your hands.

Restaurant Menu
Even in the most expensive and prestigious restaurant, where impeccable cleanliness reigns, the menu card can contain many viruses and bacteria. After all, restaurant visitors first look at the menu, make an order, and then wash their hands.

As a rule, the waiter, having accepted the order, takes away the menu card. But if she remained on the table, try not to let the food plates come in contact with her.
Office table
Oddly enough, a huge number of various microorganisms accumulate on desktops in office premises. After all, we rarely wipe our desk at work. But, coming from the street, put a dirty bag on it, put folders with papers, throw a smartphone, keys. The surface of the table is touched by visitors, work colleagues, and who will guarantee that their hands are clean.

Wipe the office desk as often as possible
You can protect yourself if, having come to work in the morning, wipe the table with a wet disinfectant cloth.

Kitchen
Sponges for washing dishes
This is perhaps the most dangerous in terms of infection, the item in the house. On the sponge, in its pores, the remains of food settle, it is constantly wet, it is warm. For bacteria – an ideal place for reproduction.

Sponges should be washed thoroughly, dried and changed once a week after use. For disinfection, you can use a microwave (put for one minute) or a dishwasher. It was found that in such ways almost all bacteria are destroyed.

Kitchen towels
Like sponges, towels accumulate a huge amount of bacteria. We wipe the dishes, hands, and sometimes the kitchen table with a towel. After use, they remain moist, and microbes feel quite comfortable on them.

A kitchen towel needs to be changed once a week.
In order not to spread the infection that has accumulated on the kitchen towel, it must be changed at least 2 days later. And for the table and other kitchen surfaces it is better to use paper towels.

Refrigerator
Usually, good housewives wash the refrigerator quite regularly, throwing away food that has deteriorated or has expired. But do they always remember the rubber band on the door? Namely, microbes accumulate on it. And do not think that in the cold all microbes will die. No, they can easily withstand low temperatures, and viruses even better tolerate cold than heat.

Therefore, when washing the refrigerator, do not forget about the sealing gum.

Bathroom
Toothbrush
Dentists advise changing toothbrushes at least every 3 months, because then they become unusable and stop cleaning teeth from food debris. But there is another reason for replacing a toothbrush. It’s warm in the bathroom, the toothbrush remains wet after use, the remains of food from our teeth and gums settle on it, which means dangerous bacteria that multiply instantly. And then brushing your teeth from a hygienic event can turn into an easy way to become infected with a virus or bacterium.

After brushing your teeth, wash the brush, preferably with hot water.
